ROKYTNA RESORT

On a rocky slope above the Vltava River, the classicist château Jabloňka stretches over Prague. Under the château, terraced vineyards with picturesque views on the metropolis form the dominant feature of the northern part of the city.

Forgotten in the terraced vineyard, a stone ruin with a curved space was discovered. Since the ruin was subtly integrated with the landscape, it became the basis of the intervention. The genius loci suggested the Fibonacci Spiral movement which was perfectly aligned with the existing ruin. By enhancing the walls of the spiral, a unique oasis of silence was outlined, as an answer to the problems of the noise pollution. A simple space, closed from the city, creates an ambiance which directs its users’ focus back to the château and the slope of the vineyards rows.

FIBONACCI

CONCEPT / The project offers answers to the local context of the place. By materials, scale and division, we refer to archetypal mountain architecture. Contemporary and clean interiors lead to a harmonious dialogue with the ever-changing landscape of the highest Czech mountains.

LIGHT / As always, we place great emphasis on natural light and its penetration through internal spaces. Contact with the surroundings is enhanced by big windows and generous balconies overlooking the picturesque mountain stream.

DETAIL / The three apartment buildings offer architecture intertwined with details. The wooden facade creates an interesting game of full-empty and plays with the transmission of natural light and the consequent play of shadows.

ROKYTNA RESORT

CONCEPT / Great emphasis was placed on preserving and enhancing the qualities of the space as such – clarity, variability, brightness and airiness. Goal was to create open and flexible space, that can be quickly transformed and changed based on the use and need of the privacy.

LIGHT / Significant feature of the designated space was a glass facade with a 360 ° view which is allowing plenty of natural daylight. Artificial lightning and other accessories are designed in white or anthracite color, which draws no significant attention to itself, but conversely contributes to the overall harmony.

DETAIL / The division of the space with the help of textiles made it possible to work with round shapes inside the space, which underlines the organic character of the interior. Light textile was used in order to achieve the highest possible optical and acoustic comfort for continuous work

NAPLAVKA NA DLANI

PROJECT KONíRNA

CONCEPT / Apartment Naplavka na dlani on Rašínovo nábřeží in the late art nouveau building from 1913. Its specific location right next to the lively platform Naplavka offers the apartment a continuous connection to the Vltava River. Water, which is the main design element of the city, also becomes the main design motive here.

LIGHT / With large glazed areas, apartment maintains a constant relationship with the outside. Even in the bathroom, visual connection to the river can be found while bathing in the bathtub.

DETAIL / Details are the dominant element of the design. Apartment brings new dimensions to the old art nouveau building, as it is designed as modern space, that follows latest design trends. Interiors are finished with high-end luxury brands of materials and appliances.

NAPLAVKA NA DLANI

CONCEPT / Project Konírna is a project of three apartment houses in Jizerské hory. The project is finding a connection between modern architecture and classic principles of Czech mountain architecture.

LIGHT / The mutual position of the three houses is very specific - they are arranged so that enough light falls on each of them, so that they don’t shade each other. When designing all three buildings, we carefully monitored the daily movement of the sun to achieve the optimal connection between nature and the emotions of future residents. In the evening, the artificial light evokes a soothing atmosphere of privacy.

DETAIL / All the interiors are tailored to the clients. With respect to all the clients, who had their specific idea of the space they want to live in, we designed unique interiors. All of them are connected through main principle: materials, which correspond to the specific location in the mountains.

ŠKOLA SV. AVGUSTINA - CHAPEL

KAPLICKA APARTMENT

CONCEPT / Chapel is located on the attic, where existing roof structure, shape and natural light are enthusiastically used to create exceptional space or singular lighted shapes.

LIGHT / The chapel is planned according to the sunrise light, where two side cross shaped above the altar, welcome the people from the two possible entrances of the chapel. One row of five skylights, ending on the skylight of St. Rita altar, emphasizes the direction and conclusion of whole path of the school.

DETAIL / Significant feature of the designated space is light, which emphasizes minimalistic touch of the design. On the other hand, wooden furniture injects warmth and contrast to the monumentality of the space.

ŠKOLA SV. AUGUSTINA - CHAPEL

CONCEPT / All the interiors are tailored to the clients. All of them are connected through main principle: materials, which correspond to the specific location in the mountains. Visible beams, wooden wall and floor coverings and a central fireplace create a warm, “cottage” atmosphere. The fireplace is designed as a central element of the living space, adopted according to a concept we have known since prehistoric times - people gathering by the fire.

LIGHT / We visually connected the two-storey apartment with a glazed hallway. Despite the modern design, we opted for traditional rectangular windows, which create the feeling of an old mountain house. In this way, the windows become images of the interior, bringing light while allowing for an uninterrupted relationship of interior and exterior.

DETAIL / Furniture is custom made, designed smartly and easily with the mixture of bright materials. While designing it, we played with the concept of “full – empty”. The best example of this is the closet that separates the hallway from the children’s playroom. The flexible cabinet creates a play of empty shelves and storage cubes, which allows us to emphasize certain objects while hiding others.

KAPLICKA APARTMENT

VINOŘ HOUSE

CONCEPT / The main concept of the house is to create a solution that will respond to the spatial properties of a given location and create an open and bright space that will correlate to the outdoor garden.

LIGHT / Architectural design forms a house with open and bright spaces that offer quality of life. One of the major elements of the architecture is the round light shaft that forms the space of the outdoor kitchen.

DETAIL / The detail can be an individual trifle or the form as a whole. The detail of the form is hidden in the play of regular and organic forms. The relationship between sharp and soft is reflected in the relationship between full and empty. The sharp shapes soften in some places to create a clear connection with nature.

WINE SOCIETY

ŠKOLA SV. AUGUSTINA – KINDERGARDEN

CONCEPT / The space follows the desire of the excellency and welcome each wine lover to a complete involvement with the portfolio of different wines.

LIGHT / The ceiling installation with more than 2000 bottles creating a waiving movement is the main design element of the space. The light fixture covers the whole area, and the combination with the furniture from Jindrich Halabala, gives to the space a special and unique character with movement and fluidity.

DETAIL / The original brick construction was kept visible, which had been combined with oak detail works and light fixtures. Each element was design, crafted or combined with unique objects from the modernism period and 30´s design.

WINE SOCIETY

CONCEPT / The new architectural addition (kindergarten) reflects the vision of the whole school. The harmony between the space, light and people simply exists as a matter of setting up the education, relation and development of each human being in the school.

LIGHT / Each room has natural light and wider windows which induce the visual relation between inside and outside, offering an open mind feeling and relation with the others and nature.

VILA TROJA

CONCEPT / The scope of our intervention was to solve and redesign the core, mainly on its functionally and additionally aesthetical. The intervention was defined by the space, the vertical wall which connects the 3 floors was used as the centre and main axes of the design.

LIGHT / The natural light is used in the house to emphasize the relation between the spaces, horizontally between the common areas and vertically to accentuate the elegance of the space. Extra artificial light was added to balance and accentuate some moments and details presented in the house.

DETAIL / Details are what are making this project so elegant. New furniture we designed is made from wood, painted in light colours and finished with soft, organic angles, which brings fluidity and elegance to the space.

EP OFFICE

LIMPID WORKS

CONCEPT / The design concept was to create an interesting interior as a warm and bright office space with custom-made furniture.

LIGHT / As usual in our work, we put interest in light. Direct natural light through large curtains becomes diffused and soft – easier for working. Natural light is complemented by designer lights that are presented almost as a sculptures in the space.

DETAIL / Details are visible with exquisite wooden work. Combination of wood with black, white and different tones of grey is making space playful, yet professional. The walls are decorated with our design of bookshelves named Regina.

EP OFFICE

CONCEPT / "Limpid Works is a space dedicated to experience and express joy through movement, imagination, music and creativity. Here stories are allowed to happen and they stay for those who desire to listen and dream. Our aim is to open perspectives, enhance perception and allow magic to happen between people, through the practices of dynamic and static forms of art."

LIGHT / Light plays a very important role in creating space. It becomes art itself. The lightness of the fabric softens and scatters the light that penetrates through the windows and creates a warm ambience of the interior.

DETAIL / Detail of the architecture is dedicated to the curtain, which recreates the spaces and allows us to change, transform, close or open it. It provides us maximum flexibility that adapts to the purpose.
